Frequently Asked Questions About Our CBD Hemp Oil
Scientifically and genetically, industrial hemp and marijuana can be the same plant, with a genus and species name of Cannabis Sativa. Industrialized hemp is always a strain of Cannabis sativa, while marijuana can be Cannabis sativa, Cannabis indica, or Cannabis ruderalis. The major difference is how industrialized hemp has been bred compared to a marijuana form of Cannabis sativa. Industrialized hemp is very fibrous, with long strong stalks, and barely has any flowering buds, while the marijuana strain of Cannabis sativa will be smaller, bushier, and full of flowering buds. Marijuana, 99% of the time, has a high amount of THC and only a very low amount of CBD. Industrialized hemp, on the other hand, naturally has a very high amount of CBD, and naturally has a low, trace amount of THC. Fortunately, the cannabinoid (CBD) profile of hemp is ideal for people looking for holistic benefits from cannabis without the “high”.
Hemp is used for making medicinal remedies, food, fiber, rope, paper, bricks, oil, natural plastic, and so much more. Whereas marijuana is usually used just recreationally, spiritually, and medicinally.
Simply put, Industrial Hemp is virtually all the hemp grown in the world today. Non-Industrial hemp would be marijuana. Because of all the cross breeding, there is little delineation between what is a hemp plant and what is a marijuana plant. Industrialized hemp is the cannabis plant that is exceptionally low in THC. We source our industrialized hemp to craft our full spectrum, whole plant hemp CBD oil from certified organic and NON-GMO growers in Canada and France.
Cannabidiol (CBD) is a compound in cannabis that has medicinal effects, but does not make people feel “stoned” and can actually counter the psycho-active effects of THC. After decades in which only high-THC Cannabis was available, CBD-rich strains are now being grown by and for medical users. The reduced psychoactivity of CBD-rich cannabis (hemp) makes it an appealing treatment option for patients seeking anti-
inflammatory, anti-pain, anti-epileptical, anti-anxiety, and anti-psychotic effects without disconcerting lethargy or dysphoria. Scientific evidence of hemp derived CBD’s medicinal and healing benefits continues to grow.
The FDA does not allow us to make any claims about what full spectrum whole plant hemp CBD oil can or may do for you. But, we CAN confidently state that we have numerous customers, colleagues, and clients using our products regularly, with brilliant and relieving success for things such as: depression, anxiety, insomnia or other sleep disturbances, PTSD, cancer, seizures, fibromyalgia, chronic pain, inflammation, arthritis, migraines and so much more. Whole plant CBD hemp products may not be the answer for everyone, but it IS an excellent option and worth exploring in your healing and health protocols. The only way you’ll truly know if it will help you is to try it. (If you need further advice, your holistic medical practitioner might be able to help as well.)
Unfortunately, there is no definitive scientific answer to this. Truly it requires some trial and error to get the right amount for you and your condition. But, with patience and practice, you should be able to get to that “sweet spot” in just a few days of working with it.
The approach we recommend is to begin taking a particular amount, twice a day for the first 7 days to build it up in your system and so you can truly see what it’s doing. Be mindful and pay attention to your body’s clues. After this amount of time, slowly increase or decrease the amount you’re taking based on the results you’re feeling.
This is an excellent question. First, let’s talk about the posted Serving Size. The FDA requires us to treat these products as a food product. So, as such, we are required to post an arbitrary Serving Size on the product. But it is just that, ARBITRARY. As for how many drops you would use, this requires only simple math and is also affected by your specific condition and that “sweet spot” you’ll find in dosing that
I mentioned above. Again, we recommend beginning with our serving size, twice a day, for seven days and adjusting from there. For reference, our 1 oz. bottles have approximately 500 drops in each bottle.
Another dosing recommendation is 1-2 drops per 10lbs of bodyweight, once per day or divided 2-3 times daily.
One last note on this topic is that your body will build up a storage of cannabidiol (CBD) in the body, which is unlike most chemicals. Unlike alcohol, which is usually absent from the blood stream and body within 24-48 hours after ingestion, cannabidiol is fat soluble and may stay bound to the cells of the body for weeks. This is important to know because after a few weeks of using whole plant hemp CBD oil, a lesser amount may be required to gain effects similar to that of your original servings.
Do you take vitamins every day? Do you strive to eat a healthy diet? I say this because, whole plant hemp CBD oil should become part of your daily health regimen or protocols for optimal efficacy and healing benefit, just like daily vitamins and a daily nutrient dense diet.
When taking enough whole plant hemp CBD oil, it generally only takes about 20-30 minutes for you to begin feeling the healing effects of CBD. But at first, it may be very subtle. Most people, when first starting out, do not know what to expect and often overlook that CBD is beginning to help their condition. Since there is no “high” to report, most people don’t know that the CBD is doing anything. Only after a while do they realize that any pain, ailment, or disorder they may have had is no longer there or not as intense. The “feeling” of CBD is so subtle that usually all that is able to be identified is a subtle calming until they become more experienced and mindful of their body’s healing and progress. When taken in proper dosages for chronic pain, a gentle release of the pain is usually fairly noticeable.
We recommend sub-lingually which means you place your dose of drops under the tongue and hold in your mouth for 60-90 seconds before swallowing. The easiest way to do this is by setting a spoon on a counter and dripping the desired number of drops into the spoon. Then, by placing the spoon into your mouth, place the liquid under your tongue for about 90 seconds, then swallow. When taking in drinks/foods, we recommend dosing approximately twice as much as if you’re taking it sublingually.
With extracts and concentrates, this can vary a bit. Please ask us for our recommendations if you are ordering these.
It is virtually impossible to take too much full spectrum whole plant hemp CBD oil. Can you eat too much spinach? Well, the answer technically is yes, you can. But, you’d have to eat such an unimaginable amount that its not realistic to think you could truly eat too much spinach. The same holds true for full spectrum whole plant hemp CBD oil. It is not realistic to think you could take too much, but of course, we recommend common sense and mindful listening to your body for any adverse reaction.
